Requiem for a Dream

My God that was a disturbing movie. I don't think I have ever seen or heard a better anti drug statement. It simply blew my mind. For anyone who hasn't watched this incredible movie (and happen to stumble unto my most humble little blog... haha, as if that would happen?) - do yourself a favor and go watch it, post haste! I recommend being sober while watching.
In other news, since I haven't posted here (yet again) in a long while, time for some updates.
I started my part time job as English teacher for a nearby elementary school this Friday. It's looking to be a lot of fun, and considering I'm getting 7260 Yen a day (2-4 hours work), my wallet fully agrees. To start with, I'm gonna do it once a week. Later on, I'll try to get a few extra days in here and there. As for the kids, they are much like kids are everywhere. Spunky, genki as they say in Japanese, and generally up to no good. For Japanese kids, the particular brand of no good consists of trying to grab, punch or kick a guy's dick, and/or poke you in the ass. I know it sounds ridiculous, and that's kind of what I thought reading about it on this website (which is bloody hilarious by the way), but after only an hour here, it is quite clear to me that this is not some random behaviour found only in particular places. No, as I've heard about the practice of kanchou from my American friends at AIU and now personally experienced little hands grabbing for my dick and ass, I know it to be perfectly true.
It's not as bad as some of what I've heard about though, probably because these kids are so small. They just don't have the strength it takes to actually hurt me. They do have what it takes to hurt my pride though. Darn those kids. They're adorable, but being groped by anything other than a 20-ish woman just feels wrong. Not to mention I could get hurt if one of them manages to actually strike bull's eye. I shall have to watch out, that's for sure.
Was out on nomi-houdai with karaoke Friday night. This is a practice common in Japan that, being introduced in Sweden, would literally be the cause of several deaths by alcohol poisoning. What it is is basically you go to a bar, pay for a couple of hours, and can order as many drinks as you want. Just beer, beer, beer if that's what floats your boat, or a combination of lethal cocktails if that's more to your liking. My guess is that some Swedes, in their quest for the Ultimate Get-me-drunk'er, will take this "as much as you want" to mean "until I pass out". Seriously, it would be some gnarly shit.
Karaoke was fun though, with 14 drunk people it tends to be. Especially when they have a nice selection of oldies everyone knows, like Sweet Home Alabama and other such crap.

Sorry to bother you but can you list what kind of clubs there are at AIU? I'm kind of interested in taking up some kind of sports, like boxing, if I ever get over there.

Sure thing mate. As far as sports go, we have:
» Skicka en kommentarBasketball
Baseball
Football (or soccer if you're american)
Tennis (which I intend to join after the summer break)
Aikido
Shorinji Kempo (which I'm in, and it's great)
Kendo
Plus a couple more I can't remember off the top of my head. And if you're enthusiastic enough, you could even start a new club, like boxing (which does not exist currently).
